Is it the government’s job to protect your health?

Yes, it’s the government’s job to protect the health of all the citizens of a country. As a citizen, you are fulfilling all the fundamental duties like paying taxes, respecting nations, following laws and policies and much more. Then in response to that, you have a fundamental right. It is the responsibility of the government to prevent and treat your health; Government should provide proper health care infrastructure like health centres, hospitals, laboratories for testing, ambulance services, blood bank and so on for all its citizens. These services should be available within reach of every patient and every corner of the country.

After the recent pandemic of covid 19, everyone is fully aware of the importance of health infrastructure. Now is when a health facility in any country directly impacts its economy and international position. Healthworks, doctors and all the medical appliances is a must factor to be able to fight all future pandemic.

There are three pillars responsible for a healthy body and mind. All the pillars have their importance and should be able to work with each other. We can’t undermine the significance of any of them.

Government: The government must maintain an up-to-date health infrastructure in the country. To be able to make required health policies and amendments in its constitutions. In a democratic country like India, when people choose their representative, one of the main criteria behind selecting a candidate is how well that representative will be able to fulfil all the current demands of health infrastructure.

An individual- The government can provide you with the infrastructure, but it’s an individual’s responsibility to maintain and take care of their health. I have regular doctor’s appointments. To adhere to all of the doctor’s recommendations. And to follow a good lifestyle.

Society: Maintenance of the health infrastructure can be fulfilled with society’s help. During the pandemic, the community made the lockdown in India successful. Social health workers and all public servants play significant roles in the implementation of the health policies of the government. Government can make these policies, but now it’s the responsibility of society to spread awareness about all those health policies.

Although a citizen also plays a vital role in maintaining health, we cannot put enough pressure on the government’s responsibility to provide good healthcare infrastructure. It follows that society should also help to promote health and prevent disease. So, an individual, government and organisation must maintain a healthy environment.

For example- It’s the government’s duty to provide vaccination for Covid 19- Then, it is an individual duty to go out and take the vaccination in time. At last, it is in the hand of society to follow all the distance and look down on norms as laid by the government.

There is more reason why good health is a must factor for the growth of a human being, For the development of a society and even the growth of an economy. A healthy body and mind must fulfil all duties and achieve all the goals. If You are not beneficial, then its nearly impossible to complete some tasks like taking care of your own family, so if the government want to have a youngster and citizen who can do well for the society and economy, then the government should put its effort in maintaining good health care infrastructure. The government very well understands these facts, which is why there is a goof allocation to the health sector in the yearly budget of the Indian government. We have a dedicated health ministry to focus on the health care sector. India has the most significant number of doctors and hospitals, and each day, we try our best to surplus all the health care facilities for the people of India and the people of India.
